Flickr & PhotoFunia
Description: Flickr is an online photo-sharing website. Photos can be enhanced using PhotoFunia (see teacher examples below) and then uploaded to a Flickr photostream. A Slideshow gadget can then be added to the Panther Online blog using the class photostream to display student work.

Animoto
Description: Animoto is a web application that produces videos from photos, video clips and music.
Activity: Students created their own Animoto projects by uploading iClipArt images based on a theme or using their own digital photos to showcase student artwork. They added music to an Animoto template.

VoiceThread
Description: VoiceThread creates online slide shows that combine images, text, video and narration.
Activity: Students will work in pairs to create a VoiceThread using selected images that re-tell a fable by Aesop. They will create a storyboard to arrange their text and illustrations before uploading images to VoiceThread. Students will narrate their fable using the last slide to explain the moral.

PhotoStory
Description: PhotoStory is an online slideshow that students can you use to add narration, effects, transitions and background music to create a Windows Media Video movie file with pan and zoom effects.
Activity: Students uploaded selected images from iClipArt to illustrate their favorite poem. Students added effects and slide transitions. They chose background music from the music library that would create a specific mood. They narrated their poem, reciting one stanza per image.

Glogster
Description: Glogster is a social network that creates interactive posters, or Glogs. A glog is short for "graphics blog". Glogs combine text, images, photos, audio clips, and videos to create a multimedia online poster.
Activity: Students created a book review using Glogster. Students included the following: a podcast interview with the author; a book trailer from YouTube for Schools or Learn 360; photo or image of the book jacket or main character; and brief book summary and reading recommendation for students.

Big Huge Labs - Cube
Description: Big Huge Labs offers many online activities. Cube is one activity where uploaded images can be used to design a cube.
Activity: Students selected six graphic images that best illustrated their favorite novel's setting, plot, characters, climax and theme. They printed and assembled their paper cube. In small groups, students rolled their cube and whichever image came up, students retold that aspect of their favorite book. Example: Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney.
